Flags Across The Nation makes a difference six years after the events of 9/11/2001. As a volunteer organization, we promote patriotism through the arts. Our programs foster love of the United States of America, respect for the American flag and support for our troops, wounded warriors and veterans. We welcome your participation with us to make a patriotic difference by writing Letters to the Troops, telling children about our art contest - “ I Love America - Flags of Freedom” – making blankets for our “Blankets for Recovery” project for our wounded warriors, entering our I Love America Day photo contest and joining with us to promote patriotism through the arts.

Mission Statement – Flags Across The Nation promotes patriotism through the arts.

Flags Across The Nation - a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, becoming a non profit in 2002.Fed EIN #41-2025485.
Goal - Flags Across The Nation creates opportunities for children and adults to get involved in creating patriotic art, letter writing, making blankets and demonstrating respect for the American flag while giving support to our troops, wounded warriors and veterans with art, letters, blankets, flags and art/photo exhibits.

Programs - We recognize the importance of educating children about flag etiquette and the importance of learning to give to those who serve. We support the love of country along with support for our deployed troops , wounded warriors and veterans through a myriad of creative programs that demonstrate patriotic love for America. Significant Programs: I Love America: Flags of Freedom - annual art contest grades k-8, Quilts of Freedom – a traveling art exhibit, I Love America Day events & Photo Contest, Letters to the Troops, Freedom Flag, American Flags for Troops, and Blankets for Recovery.

History - Flags Across The Nation was founded by Eileen A. Schwartz in 2001. The tragic events of 9/11 inspired her to make a patriotic difference. She photographed images of patriotism in San Diego, California and displayed the photos in November, 2001. Other California photographers contributed to the exhibit, resulting in 22 patriotic photo exhibits in 2001-2002. This was the beginning of promoting patriotism through the arts, currently over 60 exhibits have been seen in public, museum, private and government buildings.

Volunteers - VOLUNTEERS MAKE THINGS HAPPEN - We are 100% volunteer run. Our volunteers are children, parents, schools, businesses, temples/churches, older adults, immigrants, special needs adults, veterans and the military. In 2001, as volunteers came forward to help, Flags Across The Nation expanded its vision. We established our first annual art contest, “Flags of Freedom” in 2002. Over 500 volunteers have helped with planning events, creating and hanging exhibits, and teaching about patriotism.
