Blanket Program Continues to be a Success

Blankets for Recovery - Flags Across The NationWounded service men and women are allowed to personalized their space with one quilt/blanket. The blankets not only provide warmth, but remind them that someone cares.  Although the quilter and service person may have never met, the blanket ties them together.

Recently 3 dozen crocheted blankets were lovingly made by several North Carolina quilters and crocheters. These thoughtful items will be delivered to wounded service men and women on November 17th, just before Thanksgiving.  Not only are the blankets beautiful, but most have a personal note attached.

One quilter, Mrs. Caroline Derr, 80 years old, sent several blankets and donated dozens others to Balboa Medical Center, San Diego. Additionally, The McGee Family sent hand knit lap blankets.

A mother said her son received a quilt and could not express enough how deeply he appreciated the thoughtfulness and beauty.

Flags Across The Nation would like to sincerely thank all those contributing to the success of our Blankets for Recovery! If you would like to contribute to the blanket program, please contact us.
