Can I submit my artwork by email for the contest?

July 15th, 2010

Occasionally, we are asked if artwork for the Flags Across The Nation Art Contest can be submitted via emailed. And as the rules state for this year’s contest, all artwork must be mailed in. One of the really special benefits of this contest is that most of the artwork submitted is sent to our deployed troops who really appreciate knowing that we are thinking of them.

And if you and your kids are still thinking about sending in your artwork submission, there is still time. Just make sure that your envelope is post marked by Aug 1, 2010. Show us your patriotic spirit and create some Red White and Blue artwork for FLAGS Across the Nation and our Heroes here and over seas.

PS – Every entry is a winner and will receive a mini American Flag compliments of Carrot Top.

Thanks for your support!

A Thank You to Our Soldiers

May 18th, 2009

Enjoy this special thank you, written and performed by 12 year old Lexxi Saal. Lexxi’s goal is to have as many people listen to her song as possible by Memorial Day…

Lexxi said, “Memorial Day is much more than a day off at the beach…The soldiers don’t get a day off. They are making endless sacrifices everyday to keep us all safe…I want to inspire everyone to take a moment and really give the thanks
the deserve.”

Thank you to those who serve and protect us. And thank you Lexxi for sharing with us.

Charlotte area Veterans Reach Out to Deployed Troops

March 12th, 2009

Several caring Vets donated money to buy phone cards for deployed soldiers, now in Iraq.

FLAGS sent $400 worth of AT&T phone cards to Iraq. Our soldiers got some extra time to speak with families back in the states.

FLAGS is always looking for phone cards, American flags, children’s art and letters to send to our Troops. When you give, please don’t forget the postage.

Haming it Up after a Mission – Everyone here says hi to Flags Across The Nation. Major Joseph M. Pagnotta reached out to Flags Across The Nation to ask for support. We immediately sent children’s patriotic art, letters and an American Flag.

Children created hand-prints in a Flags Across The Nation patriotic event in the Town of Matthews, NC. On June 16, children made hand messages for our wounded warriors. The children placed the messages in our Operation SnailMail postal box. The messages will be sent to our wounded warriors who are being cared for in an American military hospital in Germany. Over 60 hand-print messages were created by children. Included in the grouping is a hand-print created by the Town of Matthews’s Mayor R. Lee Myers.
