Blankets Across The Nation

July 22nd, 2010

Blankets For Recovery Across the Nation needs volunteersCaring Methodist women continue to crochet and knit blankets for our wounded and recovering troops. The women at Memorial United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC have made over 200 blankets for “Blankets for Recovery.” Volunteers make a big difference by knitting and and crocheting their love into every piece of yarn. The giving of heart is so very appreciated by the recipients of the gifts.

FLAGS Across The Nation truly reaches across the nation with volunteers in multiple cities, from Charlotte to Arizona and California. The California volunteers, employees of ASPEN Risk Management Group have been delivering the Memorial United Methodist Church blankets to our recovering troops for years. Since, 2001, ASPEN has been actively participating in supporting our troops with letters, gifts, notecards and support for FLAGS.

Another caring person, this time Karen from Mesa Arizona donated 43 hand made blankets for the FLAGS Across The Nation’s program, “Blankets for Recovery.” Tiffiny Lilley, from My Studio Space Web Design Firm and volunteer for FLAGS, as well as web master recently went to San Diego, CA to drop off the blankets at the Balboa Naval Hospital.

Thank You Carrot-Top Industries

October 8th, 2009

For all our little artists, we will be having yet another kids art contest in 2010. Each year we get hundreds of submissions from patriotic children that love the USA and support our troops. We feel as though every child that submits artwork to our contest is a winner! Each child that submits will receive an American flag (while supplies lasts).

Carrot-Top Industries, a leader in the flag industry, has graciously donated small American flags to promote patriotism within our youth. Carrot-Top Industries has been in the flag business for 30 years and provides schools, universities and government agencies with American flags. Your child’s classroom may have a flag from Carrot-Top Industries. All Carrot-Top Industry American Flags are proudly made in the USA. You can read more about Carrot-Top Industries by clicking here.

We are so grateful for this donation and wish to thank Carrot-Top Industries! We can’t wait to see the 2010 artwork submissions from our youth and even more excited to send each child an American flag!

New to FLAGS Across The Nation?

March 12th, 2009

Are you new to FLAGS Across The Nation?
We’ve been around since 9/11. And that is when Tiffiny Lilley joined as a volunteer… She’s our web designer. Tiffiny and her team have donated their time and services to FLAGS for the past 8 years. We thank them, thank them, thank them. All of us at FLAGS (all volunteers) love our new site!

FLAGS salutes Tiffiny Lilley, at My Studio Space, for making a patriotic difference. She has once again redesigned our web site to reflect a more contemporary feel. Our new site is more colorful and offers new features for interaction. Join us, share your comments and download our coloring pages.

Let’s make 2009 a year where even more people come together to show their love for the USA and support for our troops. Make history with us at FLAGS Across The Nation.

Haming it Up after a Mission – Everyone here says hi to Flags Across The Nation. Major Joseph M. Pagnotta reached out to Flags Across The Nation to ask for support. We immediately sent children’s patriotic art, letters and an American Flag.

Children created hand-prints in a Flags Across The Nation patriotic event in the Town of Matthews, NC. On June 16, children made hand messages for our wounded warriors. The children placed the messages in our Operation SnailMail postal box. The messages will be sent to our wounded warriors who are being cared for in an American military hospital in Germany. Over 60 hand-print messages were created by children. Included in the grouping is a hand-print created by the Town of Matthews’s Mayor R. Lee Myers.
